Review Posted on NEOhioPAL... I attended Maureen Dempsey's Acting Workshop on Saturday May 8th. I took the workshop as a director to gain some perspective on acting and how to help actors do their best work in my films. I learned so much more than that. Maureen is not only a talented actor, but also a talented and nurturing teacher of the art and profession of acting. She started with core information that actors, directors and writers really need to know and be mindful of throughout the creative process. She then offered so many wonderful tips and techniques and was so patient and helpful, I can't think of many things that I would have better spent my $40 on. FYI - no one asked me to put this out there. I hardly knew Maureen when I came to this class. It's just that, as a director, I'd like to see more people from classes like this coming to my auditions. Create your own work! How many times have you sat on a set thinking to yourself, "I can do this!" Well there has NEVER been a better time. Get on board. Now I don't want to imply that it is easy. It's not. It is only easy if you don't care about how good it is. It takes work, but YOU can do it. Especially if you know what the pros do to DEVELOP a show! The Class: In this class series we will:

| Who | This is an adult workshop, 18 and over please. All adults are welcome. This is an informal workshop for all levels of experience. There is no need to prepare anything. Just come. I have scenes for you. | |

How does the class work?
It is a weekly workshop beginning at 7pm and we go until we are done.
You can leave when you need to if we are going late. Students
are not required to come every week. They come when they can so
each week the class is a little different. I can only allow
brand new students occasionally because I have to go back to my basic
techniques for them, which is a great refresher for my regulars, but
it helps if this only happens when needed and not every couple weeks.
So I am opening the class to new students at specific times.
Once you come and get the basics you will be a member and you can come anytime
you'd like.
The focus is on-camera acting. I
cover something different each week. I also follow trends in the
industry.
All Adults are welcome. This is the
Adult Class 18 and over please.
